Alaaeldin Ahmed M. Abusaker

Cultural Advisor

Alaa is the manager of the Palestine Charity Team (PCT) in Rafah, Palestine. This group of dedicated people seek out the poorest children and provide them with the necessities for getting an education: food, clothing, medicine, and supplies. It also helps them celebrate and feel proud of their culture. At PCT, he has made effective use of social media to raise money and bring services to Palestine. After graduating with a BA in Business Management from Al Quds University in 2019, Abusaker enrolled in the graduate school of Business Administration at Mansoura University in Mansoura, Egypt. He is recently completed his first year at Mansoura, while remaining active with PCT. He enjoys English studies and speaking with a huge number of friends all over the world who support his work in Palestine. Abusaker comes from a large family that places an importance on education and service. He enjoys photography and making videos. After graduate school, he hopes to travel and use his interest in business and the arts to help the Palestinian people.

Tamar Oron has just completed her M.F.A. in Acting at Tel Aviv University. She is a bilingual (English and Hebrew) actor currently based in Berlin.

D’Vorah Kost Chair, Outreach Committee, Cultural AdvisorD’vorah is a life-long performance artist/activist and a retired social worker, with specialties in crisis intervention and older adult services. She currently teaches yoga to senior citizens and Somali immigrants. She has been on three medical missions serving Syrian refugees and residents of Gaza. Kost is the co-founder/past coordinator of the Middle East Peace Camp, which has been serving Muslim, Jewish, Palestinian and Arab children in Seattle every summer since 2002, and an active supporter of Middle East Children's Alliance, Fellowship of Reconciliation, Center for Jewish Non-Violence, and Jewish Voice for Peace.

Recent theatre credits include: THE BAND’S VISIT actor/musician/Arabic dialect coach (North American Tour), AMERICAN GRIOT co-author/composer (Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award 2020), MACBETH Hecate/musician (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), GREAT EXPECTATIONS composer/sound designer (Silk Road Rising/Remy Bumppo;), ZIRYAB, THE SONGBIRD OF ANDALUSIA author/solo performer (Silk Road Rising), THE JUNGLE BOOK musician/consultant (Goodman, Huntington), THE WHITE SNAKE co-composer/musician (Oregon Shakespeare Festival). He is an international artist and has performed with the music groups Allos Musica, Apollo’s Fire, Diwan Al-Han, EMME, Lamajamal, Mucca Pazza, Newberry Consort, and Surabhi Ensemble.
